Welcome to the St. Lawrence Long Rifles
Chartered by the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association in 2002, St. Lawrence Long Rifles is a Northern New York club dedicated to muzzleloading, marksmanship, craftsmanship, history, and friendly competition.
We welcome experienced competitors, recreational shooters, families, and newcomers with opportunities to learn, compete, and enjoy the traditions of black powder shooting.
New to Muzzleloading?
You do not need to be an experienced competitor to get involved. The St. Lawrence Long Rifles welcomes shooters who are learning about black powder firearms as well as those returning to the sport. Our members value safe shooting, education, sportsmanship, and passing the traditions of muzzleloading on to the next generation.
Our Annual Events
Each year, St. Lawrence Long Rifles hosts a mix of traditional competition, youth instruction, and specialty black powder events.
Youth Shoot
A safe, supervised introduction to black powder shooting for young shooters.
Border Skirmish
A spring team event featuring rifled muskets and N-SSA-style competition.
NNY Muzzle Loading Championships
Our signature three-day championship with rifle, pistol, musket, bench, youth, primitive, and other matches.
Black Powder Cartridge Match
A summer match dedicated to black powder cartridge rifle competition.
