About St. Lawrence Long Rifles
Chartered by the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association in 2002, St. Lawrence Long Rifles is a Northern New York black powder shooting club dedicated to history, marksmanship, craftsmanship, and the traditions of muzzleloading.
Our members include competitive and recreational shooters, families, returning shooters, and people who are simply curious about the sport. We value safe shooting, education, friendly competition, and sharing what we know with the next generation.
What We Shoot
Our shooting includes traditional muzzleloading rifles and pistols, muskets, black powder cartridge rifles, and specialty rifle matches including bench, slug gun, and bullet gun disciplines.
Our signature event is the Northern New York Muzzle Loading Championships, held each July, along with our Youth Shoot, Border Skirmish, Black Powder Cartridge Match, and regular club shoots throughout the season.
New Shooters Are Welcome
Whether you are an experienced competitor, returning to the sport, or interested in muzzleloading for the first time, you are welcome. Our members enjoy helping new shooters learn safely, understand the equipment, and become comfortable at the range.
Passing along the skills, history, and traditions of muzzleloading is an important part of who we are.
Our Home Range
St. Lawrence Long Rifles is proud to call the Norfolk Rod and Gun Club home. The range offers approximately 140 feet of covered firing line with distances from 25 to 200 yards.
